Frequently Asked Questions

When must I submit my assignment?
It is entirely up to you to decide when you will submit an assignment and at what pace you want to complete the course. There are no due dates or cut-off dates for the submission of assignments but do keep in mind that you must complete the course within the prescribed time frame.

How will I know if I have been accepted as a student?
The College will advise you by SMS and by letter of your student number.

How and when do I write exams?
There are no nerve-wrecking sit-down examinations. The Programmes offered by BMT College are Unit Standard based and therefore require that a student must be found competent against specified outcomes. These outcomes are assessed in assignments or Portfolios of Evidence submitted by a student.

What happens if I fail an assignment?
You will restudy and resubmit the assignment under the expert guidance of your Study Advisor. You will only be required to resubmit the failed part of the assignment. In terms of Outcomes Based Education you will do this until you pass, at no extra cost.

Can I only enrol at the beginning of the year?
You can enrol and start at any time throughout the year.

How do I go about starting with my studies?
Upon enrolment you will receive all your registration documentation and full study instructions. As soon as the first payment has been received the first module of lectures will be posted to you within 21 days.

When do I graduate?
The College has four graduations throughout the year. You will upon completion of your qualification receive an invitation from the College to attend one of these ceremonies, depending on what date suits you best.
